Embark on a 2-day adventure from Hurghada to Aswan, exploring some of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks. This tour includes visits to the awe-inspiring High Dam, the Temple of Goddess Isis on Philae Island, and the Unfinished Obelisk. You will also have the opportunity to visit the magnificent Abu Simbel temples, a grand legacy of Ramses II, including the Temple of Queen Nefertari.
Day 1: Aswan Tour – 4 Stops
1. Departure from Hurghada Your driver will pick you up early in the morning for a scenic 5-hour drive to Aswan. Upon arrival, you’ll check into a 3-star hotel for a brief rest. (6 hours total)
2. Aswan High Dam Next, you’ll visit the Aswan High Dam, an impressive engineering marvel built in the 1960s. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of Lake Nasser to the south and the large power station to the north. (40 minutes)
3. Temple of Philae Afterward, explore the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis. This was the last temple built in the classic Egyptian style, beginning around 690 BC, and was one of the last places where the goddess was worshiped. (2 hours)
4. Unfinished Obelisk Finally, visit the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan’s granite quarries. Here, you’ll see where much of the red granite for ancient Egyptian temples and statues came from. The obelisk, which was abandoned after a crack was discovered during its carving, weighs over 1,000 tons. (1 hour)
Day 2: Abu Simbel Tour and Return to Hurghada – 1 Stop
1. Abu Simbel Temples On the second day, you’ll leave early for a visit to the Abu Simbel temples. These two remarkable temples, built between 1274 and 1244 BC by Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari, are carved into the mountainside. The Great Temple is dedicated to Ramses II, while the smaller temple honors Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. The temples were relocated to higher ground to preserve them from flooding caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam—a UNESCO World Heritage achievement. (10 hours)
After your visit, enjoy lunch in Aswan before your return journey to Hurghada
Magnifique moment !
